Miss Vermont
Jessica Lee Fillion
What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
At the beginning of the summer I went to the beach with a group of my friends. We were all swimming and lounging around when everyone decided that they were going to go cliff jumping. I have always been deathly afraid of heights, but on this particular day I decided that I was going to conquer my fear and jump off the 76-foot cliff! Needless to say, I am no longer scared of heights!

What are your strongest talents?
My strongest talents are definitely my leadership and communication skills. I am involved in so many different activities and I love being a positive role-model for others. My communication skills play a big part in this. Since I work so closely with others all the time I have a great way of conveying my message to my peers and speaking to people in a manner that they can understand and relate to!
Name one person, family, friend, celebrity, who has had the most influence on your life.
My mom. Mohandas Ghandi once said "Where there is love, there is life." My mom has proven this to be true. She has filled my life with so much love and enthusiasm that words can not explain how much of an inspiration she is to me. My mother is truly the most thoughtful, caring, kind, loving woman in this entire world. Throughout the past 18 years she has been there for me every step of the way. She is my biggest fan and each and everyday I look up to her for encouragement, support, and wisdom.
Describe how you envision yourself in five years?
In five years I envision myself to be attending graduate school and hopefully studying abroad. I have always wanted to travel to Germany where my father's family roots are, and to go there, explore an entirely new country and learn about my family heritage would be the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences of my life.
What else do you want the judges to know about you?
I want the judges to know that I think that I have what it takes to be the first teen delegate from Vermont to make top 15 since 1993. In fact, it would be great to WIN just like Charlotte Lopez did in 1993.
