Kmisha-Victoria Counts

Kmisha was born in Washington D.C. and moved to St Thomas, US Virgin Islands at the age of one. The American Virgin Islands consist of four beautiful islands, with a bustling tourist industry, kind friendly people and is considered a melting pot of many cultures. Currently studying at berklee college of music her future ambition is to become a recording artist, songwriter and executive in the music industry with her own record label. She has already sung alone on stage in front of hundreds of people, performed with a group and was camp counsellor/dance instructor at the v.i. institute of performing arts. Hobbies and interests are: public speaking, acting, tennis, basketball, soccer, playing the piano, singing and dance: ballet, tap and jazz; looking after her dog called fluffy. Her favourite food is beef lasagne with lots of cheese.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Compassionate, intelligent, determined

Do you have a special or unusual talent? (what is it?)
I can read peoples personalities if I get an impulsive instinct just by first impression. I am always distinctively correct

Where would you most like to visit in the world and why?
I would like to travel to egypt, because I would love to see the egyptian pyramids

What is the best thing about your country?
The U.S Virgin Islands has a cultural celebration for almost every season. In the winter, st croix has its cultural festival lasting weeks with highlighted events and parades. In the spring, the virgin islands carnival comes into act in st thomas, and in the summer time, st john’s festival kicks into gear with functions and celebrations to start off the summer. There’ nothing like america’s paradise

Your favourite Film?
The Temptations, which chronicles the rise and the fall of the most successful r&b/soul male singing group.

Your favourite Music?
My favourite music includes Rhythm and Blues (R&B), Reggae/dancehall, Hip-Hop, Soca, Calypso, and old school blues.

Your favourite Singer/Band?
Whitney Housten, because of her extraordinary voice.

Your favourite Book?
'Their Eyes Were Watching God' by Zora Neale Hurston.

If you were granted one wish, what would it be?
If I were granted one wish, the wish would be to eradicate temptation, making it instinctive for everyone to live righteously

If you were stuck on a desert island with one other person (famous or not) whom would you choose?
A naturalist/plane engineer/boat – maker/hunter /cave man!

What is your message to all the other miss world contestants?
The crown is not a measure of your beauty, intelligence or success, as for those attributes, only you are the judge. Be bold and be confident, but most of all be yourself
