Valerija was born and grew up in riga, the heart and capital of Latvia, it is one of the biggest ports of hansa union, lying between europe and russia. Having obtained certificates from the london chamber of commerce & industry in the english language, practical computing, european union and management, valerija is now in her 3rd year studying european business at the riga international school of economics and business administration. Ambition is to study hard and become a top manager in a big and flourishing company. Hobbies and sporting interests are: learning languages, travelling, professional tennis, aerobics, volleyball, skiing, bowling, swimming, diving, billiards and dance, including classical, latino and belly dancing. Personal motto would be “do everything possible to always be ‘simply number one”

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Simply number one

Do you have a special or unusual talent? (what is it?)
The ability to surround myself with trustworthy and interesting people can also be as a talent. In more practical view I dance very passionate and expressive belly dance.

Where would you most like to visit in the world and why?
I most would like to visit a place where nobody has ever been (if it still possible).

What is the best thing about your country?
Beautiful stone amber, which is a tear of the sun, shining for hundreds of years.

If you were granted one wish, what would it be?
I would wish that all people on earth would at the same second smile to each other. If you were stuck on a desert island with one other person (famous or not whom would you choose?
With christopher columbus, because he would discover alike to new world even on the desert island.

What is your message to all the other miss world contestants?
I would like to wish to each contestant to have her own star in the sky that will shine her.
