What are your interests and what do you enjoy doing the most?
Horse riding and swimming.

Name one person other than your parents who has had the most influence on your life. Why?
Nelson Mandela. He showed the world that he is a strong man who believed in his principles and stuck to them, when many would have given up. He has led an exemplary life and is an inspiration to millions of people the world over.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
To be a successful lawyer and philanthropist and advance the cause of women in my country. I am studying very hard to make my dreams come true and giving my spare time to support worthy events.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
I was raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with my family. Growing up we shared a lot of love just like most families and I have very fond memories of my childhood playing with my older sister and learning new things. I had a very normal childhood and upbringing I would say.

What makes you unique and different from the other contestants?
I firmly believe that as humans we are all basically the same, but my guess is the way we as individuals think and approach certain situations in everyday life is what makes us all different. I would hesitate to say what makes me different from the other contestants because I have not met any of them. It would therefore be very presumptuous of me to think or say how I am different from any them. Fundamentally, we are all young ladies proudly representing our countries at the greatest show on Earth... Miss Universe 2006!
