Neha Kapur

What are your interests and what do you enjoy doing the most?
I am a keen painter and my special interest lies in painting subjects to do with women and Hindu mythology. I also enjoy traveling to new places because it gives me the opportunity to meet new people and understand new and diverse cultures.

Name one person other than your parents who has had the most influence on your life. Why?
Ms. Sushma Puri, the head of Elite in India, under whose guidance and constant encouragement I have realized my potential and learned to believe in myself.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
Having achieved this recognition, I would want to use this platform for as long as possible to be heard on issues dear to my heart such as energy conservation and literacy, both of which need to be addressed. Post this, I would like to pursue my passion for painting and would eventually like to study art restoration as I am concerned about rich cultural heritage disappearing through neglect.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
I was born and brought up in New Delhi. I am one of three children and have two older brothers who both dote on me and have pampered me since I was little. My parents have always been very encouraging in all my personal and professional decisions. I had a secure, comfortable and happy childhood and the values taught to me continue to stay with me till date.

What makes you unique and different from the other contestants?
In my opinion, each contestant is different and unique in her own way because each one of us comes from a very different upbringing and environment. I take pride in being a modern Indian woman with intrinsic traditional Indian values. My strength lies in being able to understand and accept people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
