What makes you proud of your country:
To be an Indian today is a matter of great pride. We are rich, varied and diverse in our cultures, languages and religions but strongly united in our patriotism. We are beautiful people with beautiful minds, blessed with cultures and traditions that respect and worship Mother Earth. Indian mythology worships the earth as a goddess along with its elements air, water and fire. Self sufficient and self reliant, agriculture contributes to 70% of Indian’s annual capital income. We are one of the global leaders in the production of milk and dairy products. India is the root of powerful ancient wisdoms of healing and therapy. It has contributed globally with the sciences of yoga, meditation & ayurveda providing alternative healing remedies thru ancient scientific techniques and the use of natural herbal resources. We respect elders and Indians still follow the joint/extended family culture, where children grow in family full of love, affection and with deep respect for elders. The Indian believes in sanskaras -16 kinds of values that are essential ti let a child grow as a good human being. We believe that a baby listens and starts adapting to the world whilst still in the mothers womb. We believe that a person starts to exist not when they are born but from the moment they are conceived. Our strength in our youth. 71% of i.e 770 million people are below their age of 35, and it is our youth that is propelling India forward to becoming a powerful country. We are proudly democratic. Unlike other countries we have 16 official languages and 2000 dialects. We are strongly artistic and have produced great painters like Raja Ravi Vema, M.F. Hussain, superlative singers like Lata Matangeshkar, Asha Bhosle. We have our own indigeneous classical dance forms like Kathak, Kuchipudi, Bharatnatyam, besides 26 folk dances from our 26 states. Our historical monuments are global treasures.. the Taj Mahal, Kutubminar, Jal Mhal, Char Minar, the ancient palaces of Jaipur & Udaipur. The Indian traditional dress, the Saree is both rich in form and texture, versatile in the way it is worn across the country and is iconic to the Indian woman. Indian cuisine is now a global phenomenon with its rich tastes, sumptuous blend of spices and textures. Finally I choose to promote ‘Me’ as a true Indian, a true representative of all its traditions, its beliefs, its ambitions and its rightful place as a positive force in the global context.
