I am the ambassador for a unique environmental project. The Maungatautari Ecological Island Trust has built a 40km pest-proof fence to preserve and restore to the forest a healthy diversity of endangered flora and fauna. The site chosen is an ancient forested volcanic one that will enclose and protect our natural wildlife from introduced pests.
What makes you proud of your country:
New Zealand is a small nation where individuals can be seen achieving highly on an international scale, in a diverse range of fields. I am proud to be representing my country and people at the Miss Earth 2006 pageant where can showcase and promote our clean green image to the rest of the world. New Zealand is a country of natural beauty that has a unique environment ranging from mountains to beaches and is home to many endangered species of flora and fauna. It is therefore important that I promote the protection of our beautiful Mother Earth, to preserve it for the future generations.
