Miss Utah
Katie Millar
What is your hometown like?
It is a small community nestled right up next to the beautiful mountains of Utah, where everyone who lives there is like a big family and knows pretty much everyone's name in the community.
What were you like when you were a child?
Spazzy with a lot of sassiness.
Who is the most influential person in your life?
There have been many people who have impacted my life, but the most influential would have to be myself. I have always believed that it is more important how you act rather than react. I have found that I control who I am, how I will treat others and the kind of day that I am going to have.
What is one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize?
I am very softhearted, and I love people and getting to know everyone. Sometimes I might seem all business, but deep down I really just want to have fun.
What was one defining moment in your life?
My sister, Amy Jo, was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes six years ago.
What was one defining moment in your life?
The most important thing you need to be is yourself. The world needs more uniqueness and more people willing to stand up for who they are and what they believe in.
What was one defining moment in your life?
First of all, I would devote my time to showing America what a modern woman can be if she puts her mind to it. Whether she is in the corporate world or is raising a family in a small town, the world needs strong women. I will also be a crusader for juvenile diabetes research and strive to bring more awareness and funding to the advancement of a cure and a better lifestyle for those persons with this illness.
