Jenileigh Sawatzke

What is your hometown like?
Extremely windy! It is beautiful and people are very welcoming.

What were you like when you were a child?
My mom said I was always 8 going on 30. But I was also the most uncoordinated child you have ever met. Thank goodness, I had several years of dance training to help me. When I first started dancing, I couldn't keep the beat of the music!

Who is the most influential person in your life?
Obviously my mom. She has helped me become who I am. She has always been there for me and has shown me that I can do anything I put my mind to. Plus I get my sense of humor from her, too.

What is one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize?
I'm a personable person and show a lot of who I am up front. What people don't realize about me is that I am a huge daredevil.

What was one defining moment in your life?
My mom took me to a Cirque du Soleil show when I was 16. I had already been dancing and participating in gymnastics. I saw this show, and I knew that I could and wanted to do this. I came home and found a place to train, and I have been loving acrobatics ever since. Without seeing that show, I wouldn't be where I am today.

What was one defining moment in your life?
I've learned about myself and who I am. Every experience and competition that you go through gives you a chance to find out more about yourself and how you prepare for things and handle situations. I have also found my passion for performing through pageants. Talent is my favorite part of the competition.

What was one defining moment in your life?
I want to bring Miss America back to the people. I will perform my talent as much as possible to catch people's attention. I will also work very diligently on my platform because it is something that is enormously affecting our nation.
