Malebogo grew up in a village named Tonota, it is just 30 km south of Francistown. In spite of rapid development, Tonota has still retained much of its rural social order and keeps up with stereotypical village gossip.
Malebogo was crowned just after graduating from university with a bachelor’s degree in economics and population studies, she has worked as a temporary teacher, and taken an assignment as a research assistant with a local economic policy institute.
After she has completed her duties as Miss Botswana, she plans to continue her studies for a Masters degree in (health) economics. Hobbies and sporting interests include: collecting art, reading, writing, playing guitar, ballroom & Latin dancing, listening to rhythm and blues and playing badminton.
Malebogo’s personal motto is: “To whom much is given, much is expected”.
