Nancy is the eldest of four siblings who live with their mother in Abymes on the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe. The island’s speciality of spicy fish and rice is her favourite dish.
She took a degree in economic science last year and now manages a mobile phone shop.
Nancy keeps a cat and goldfish. She enjoys: Reading, swimming, athletics, dancing, and her favourite music is Bachata (rural music from Dominica), Indian song and local folk song.
She hopes to put her talent for communication to full use with a career in tourist information, spreading knowledge of Guadeloupe across the world.
Her motto, from the Latin poet Horace, is “Carpe diem” - seize the day.
