Jennifer lives in San Juan, the capital of the “island of enchantment” where she was born.
She lived in rural Orocovis when she was younger and enjoys the typical Orocovis dish of rice and pork sausage her grandmother makes. Her mother died when she was twelve and Jennifer helped bring up her younger brother who will graduate from high school next year.
She likes Caribbean music and writes poetry. She has represented Puerto Rico in three volleyball tournaments in the US. Other sporting interests are: softball, basketball, track and field events.
Jennifer has learned to use sign language and helps coach deaf children in the Hato region, and she will use her scholarship from the Miss Puerto Rico Organisation to study educational psychology at the University of El Turabo; it is her ambition to create a therapy and learning centre for deaf children. H
er motto declares that “More is done by the one who wants to than by the one who can”.
