Gabriela Oviedo Sarrete

Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life. Why?
I would have to say that the person who has influence on my life, besides my mom, is my uncle Quito Velasco, who is also now my fashion advisor. I had no interest in entering the world of pageants, mostly because I didn't think I had a chance, but he saw potential in me and he encouraged me to try it. Now, thanks to him I'm living things I never thought I would.

What is the most interesting or unique thing that has ever happened to you (aside from winning your title) and/or what is the most interesting thing about you?
The experience of life by itself is the most interesting and unique thing that has ever happened to me. Not knowing what the future is going to bring me makes my life exciting and unique.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
I am majoring in international business mostly because I see this career as one of the few paths we have left to help my country grow economically. My plans are to be an excellent professional and help my country become a part of the global economic community.

Are you currently a student? If yes, where? What is your area of study?
At Santa Cruz Private University (U.P.S.A.), I'm majoring in International Business.

Describe your childhood home and living conditions. Were you raised with a large family with lots of brothers and sisters?
I'm an only child, so my family was very reduced, just my mom and me. Fortunately my mom has 4 brothers and sisters, so my family in general is big. I could say I was raised surrounded by my cousins and uncles.

What one word describes you best?
Dreamer.
