Marifely Arguello

Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life. Why?
My grandmother, she has been one of my life long teachers. Starting from her name Felicidad, which means happiness, I’ve looked up to her, her positivism and happiness have influenced me drastically.

What is the most interesting or unique thing that has ever happened to you (aside from winning your title) and/or what is the most interesting thing about you?
One interesting thing that has happened to me is that I've actually gotten rid of one of my fears, public speaking. An interesting thing about me is that every time I have a dream I do the most possible to fulfill it.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
I was born with creativity and I want to explode this gift to help visualize the beauty of my country internationally. I’m planning on using my skills as a graphic designer to fulfill this and someday open a studio or a firm.

Are you currently a student? If yes, where? What is your area of study?
At the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. I’ll be graduating May 1st of 2004., Graphic Design.

Describe your childhood home and living conditions. Were you raised with a large family with lots of brothers and sisters?
I was raised with 2 sisters and 2 brothers, my parents, my grandmother, the maids, the driver, the gardener; we are all a big family. For a big family we definitely need a big house. We used to live in Costa Rica when it was only my sister and me, when my little brother was born we moved to Nicaragua and then my 2 other siblings where born. We lived in the capital city for a short period of time, and then we moved to the outskirts of Managua, and lived there ever since in a big house with lots of land to play, have fun and have plenty of parties.

What one word describes you best?
Positive.
