What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
The craziest thing I ever did was walk out on stage at a school Christmas Holiday Fashion Show dressed as a Candy Cane. I thought we were supposed to be dressed representing Christmas, and all the other students participationg were dressed in formal gowns and evening attire. Needless to say I was the only red and white stripped Candy Cane that evening!

What is the most interesting or surprising thing about you, or that has happened to you?
When I was six years old I was coughing a lot, so my mother took me to my pediatrician. He told me that I had walking phneumonia, but that was the least of his worries. He sent me to Children's Hospital in Boston, MA, and they diagnosed me as having an Atrial Septal Defect, a hole in my heart. My parents, and I were shocked! I was studying dancing, karate, gymnastics, and ice-skating weekly and seemed perfectly healthy. I never showed any symptoms because I was atrial septal. That means that its very hard to detect and doesn't show any outward signs. After a few years of waiting we went to Floating Hospital of Boston, which is part of the New England Medical Center. They agreed to try a new experimental device called an Ampalzer Occulder on me when I was ten years old. I was lucky to fit the requirements for the device. My procedure was performed on September 8, 1997, and we had to agree to let the procedure be telecast live for a symposium of two-hundred catheter doctors from around the world. The procedure was observed via satellite at Duke University and the Marriott Hotel Convention Center in Boston, MA. If it had not been for the device I would have had open heart surgery. The device went through a catheter and left a scar the size of the tip of a pen on my upper thigh. A couple of years later the device was approved by the FDA and is used now. I'm extremely fortunate to have had that opportunity, and now I have a healthy heart and multiple wardrobe options too!
Are you the oldest, youngest or a middle child and what does that mean to you?
To me being an only child means that I have always had to be able to entertain myself. Since I didn't have any siblings, I had to make life fun on my own. I am outgoing and very interested in other kids' lives especially if they are from a large family. I take every opportunity I can to see how other kids live with their siblings because it's so different when compared to mine. I have a very special relationship with my parents. We are able to spend a lot of time together and I really enjoy it.
Name one person, family, friend, celebrity, who has had the most influence on your life.
My Mother. I know a lot of people say that their mother has had the most influence on their lives, but I truly mean it. She has been the perfect role model for me. I hope that I can be at least half the person that she is. She is such an amazing woman with all that she has accomplished in her lifetime, including having a successful business. I look up to her and thank her on a daily basis for always being there for me and for being so supportive for all that I do.
