Where did you grow up? Tell us a little about your home town/city, and family.
I was born and bred in Maun, a village in the northwest district of Botswana, also the centre of the tourism industry. I come from a closely-knit extended family. I have three siblings, my older sister Vera and brothers Adrian and Aubrey.

What Jobs have you done? What was the most interesting/bizarre?
At the age of seventeen I was first employed in a beauty and hair salon, then a computer workshop. In my first year of University I worked as a volunteer in a Career and Counselling Centre. I am currently on attachment with BONEPWA, Botswana Network For People Living With Aids. My most bizarre work experience was as a lead singer for the Maun Senior Secondary School.

What are your career ambitions, how do you plan to realise them?
In the future I hope to work for UNICEF, as an advocate for children’s rights. I will be working closely with UNICEF during my year of reign. I hope that I will be employed to work full time after I graduate due to my efficiency and hard work.

What is the proudest moment of your life? (Not including winning your National Title)
Winning the campus out reach variety show trophy (first prize) at the University of Botswana where I attend. I am a singer and songwriter and this was the first time I had actually sang my own songs, Acapella. This was also a turning point in my life.

What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
When I fell and broke my chin because I was dancing in the shower, after my first lesson of Borankana, our Tswana traditional dance. My family has always teased me about it and we all still find it hilarious.

What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
I now live a much more comfortable life. Since becoming Miss Botswana I have become very busy, I hardly have time for family, friends and myself. But not that I am complaining, I am loving every bit of it.

Tell us about an interesting event you have attended, or a person that you have met.
It was the launch of a beauty product. The woman behind the beauty product had so much substance and strength of character. Instead of selling her product only, she also talked about faith, happiness, inner beauty and peace.

What would you like to do, if you became Miss World 2004?
I would like to work with young people, driving them towards self-actualisation. Also helping under privileged children and those in crisis situations. To create also networks to help youth rise above mediocrity and overcome adversity.

If you had a personal motto what would it be?
Life is precious and rare, the only hope is to seize the moments and live them with more clarity, perception, honesty and love.

Give details of any charitable work undertaken?
Bana Ba Naga (Children of the Wilderness). It is a charity organisation, which rounds up children from broken homes, orphans and street kids for a long holiday in the wilderness, teaching them life and survival skills which they carry with them through to adulthood so they can live normal and prosperous lives.
