What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
At the age of 14, I hiked Knife Edge, a trail on Mt. Katahdin, which is Maine’s highest peak and the end of the Appalachian trail. It’s named Knife Edge because it’s extremely narrow and dangerous. Not realizing that the fog would be so dense at that altitude, I was determined to finish the trail and continued to hike it anyway. Halfway through, I got so scared that I ended up finishing the trail by crawling on my hands and knees.

Name one personal accomplishment (in addition to being a State Titleholder) that makes you especially proud.
I am extremely proud of my involvement with the nationally recognized “Community of Caring” program. In 2004, I was honored to serve as Chairman of the 10-year anniversary celebration. This program brings local school children, businesses, and community leaders together to focus on five core values: caring, respect, responsibility, trust, and family. This program has proven effective in better grades and attendance of the students as well as showing a decrease in the number of teen pregnancies, drug use and high school drop outs.
