Renata Soñé

Age: 22
Height: 5'6"
Hair Colour: Brown
Eye Colour: Brown

Interests: I'm interested in continuing my modeling career to become an international model. Since I was little my dream was to walk the runway with a Gucci or Cavalli dress, I saw myself as the next cover girl! This is a dream I'm working hard for it to become true. AS a clinical psychologist, I'm aware of our problem with children living on the streets. This is the reason I want to create an institute to educate families and help sick and abandoned children. Other than that I enjoy doing Pilates, going to the beach, the movies and having barbecues with family and friends.

Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life. Why?
I have two women who have influenced my life. The first is the late princess Diana, for her strength, determination, elegance and sensibility. The second is a woman who once was the first lady of my country. When I read her biography I couldn't believe I found a person with the same interests as me, her name is Renee Klang widow Guzman. She educates families, especially parents, of a proper upbringing and she also gives shelter to homeless children. I hope that some day I'll be able to do the same.

What is the most interesting or unique thing that has ever happened to you (aside from winning your title) and/or what is the most interesting thing about you?
That I never met my biological mother, because she passed away when I was just six months old. I was raised by my grandparents, until my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and I moved to my father and step mom's house. Even though I was sorrounded with love and I was very satisfied, but I always felt the emptiness of my mother. I think that's a feeling most grownups did not understand, so that's why I like a lot working with children.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
I want to be a model for international designers and recognized magazines. I am also very anxious to create a children's institute to continue my interests as a psychologist. I also believe that competing in such a prestigious contest as the Miss Universe will help me achieve my goals, because of the important people I will meet and the experience I will gain.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
I was raised in the capital of Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo. This is a very exciting city with a diverse map of restaurants, night clubs, museums, and malls with international and local stores. We have exotic beaches both for relaxing and water sports. I loved growing up in the Dominican Republic! I was a very playful and happy child and I feel fortunate and blessed. I also receive the love and tender of a very close family.

List any interesting or unsual jobs you may have had.
To be instructor in a summer camp for children of my same age. I was just 13 years old!

What is your most unusual talent?
Oil painting. It's unusual because nobody in my family has art talent.
