It is the dream of every Bollywood actor to walk the red carpet at the International Cannes Film Festival.
The eyes of the world are upon the celebs who tread the hallowed carpet. No wonder, all the fashionistas go into overdrive when its that time of the year.
Lets take a look at the lucky ones who did get to walk the carpet and the look they chose to sport.
Saw Aishwarya Rai, Nadita Das and Mallika Sherawat walk the carpet.
While Aish was her usual delicate, glamourous self, sporting a white gown, looking very European;
Nandita looked traditionally beautiful in a gorgeous red silk sari teamed with gold jewellery.
What was Mallika wearing? Well...one din't quite notice, you see. Her twin assets were sooooo in your face that it was hard to look at anything but those!
Aishwarya, for reasons best known to herself, decided to wear a parrot green sari, that looked like it had been pulled out of mom's wardrobe, teamed with an embroidered choli, and hold your heart..chappals!
Thankfully, she made it up by appearing in another rather nice blue dress, with a very Italian hairdo.
Priety, not far behind, appeared in a golden bubble dress, more suited to a 13 year old going to the prom.
Sees Aishwarya walking the red carpet again. This time, hanging on to hubby Abhishekh's arm.
Resplendent in a white, shoulder less dress with a thick diamond choker around her neck, Aish flaunted a hint of her legs through the lacy frill. However, it was more of the hubby that was on parade, we do think!
Yawn! Aishwarya time AGAIN! This time with father in law, Amitabh hovering around solicitously along with hubby, Abhishekh.
Wearing a black dress, with a satin sheen this time, a hint of clevege showing, and very little jewellery, Aish looked as elegant as ever.
In another appearence, she wore a fuchsia dress. Both Amitabh and Abhishekh seemd to like it, considering they were hovering protectively round her.
No prizes for guessing who went to Cannes this time! Aishwarya and Abhishekh...AGAIN!
This time the beauty wore a gown with a hint of gray and later, at another time, a gown with a long train, white in colour with thousands of tiny frills. Aish managed to look ravishing in spite of the frills.
Aish again, this time is a spectacular grey dress, decorated with millions of scales, looking gorgeous but for a disaster of a hairstyle, that transports one straight to the provential salons of Madras.
However, the real eye candy this time was provided by Deepika Padukone, simply immaculately turned out in a gorgeous white and gold dari, teamed with a gold choli.
Mallika was also there, wearing a not- worthy- of comment gown!
