Bollywood is the ideal place if one is looking for stardom and success. However, this stardom and success sometimes comes with a price. After Salman Khan was convicted in the 2002 hit and run case, earlier today, it is pretty evident that not even the biggest entertainment industry can evade the judicial system of India. We take a look at some other high profile cases.

Sanjay Dutt
Convicted in 2013 and sentenced to a prison term of 5 years, the actor was arrested for illegal possession of a 9mm pistol and an AK-56 assault rifle shortly after the 1993 terrorist attacks on Bombay. He was booked under TADA (Terrorist and Disruptive Activites Act).

Salman Khan
No, this is not the first time Salman has been convicted for an illegal act. Earlier in 1999, he was arrested for hunting a Chikara deer with Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam, and Tabu. In 2012, the Rajasthan High Court convicted the actor, only to see it suspended two years later by the Supreme Court.

Saif Ali Khan
Also accused in black poaching case during the shoot of 'Hum Saath-2 Hai', he was booked for hunting a protected animal in a village located in the vicinity of Jodhpur. He was also arrested recently for slapping a civilian at a restaurant in Mumbai.

Yes! Believe it not, but John was booked for rash and negligent driving, back in 2006. However, the actor later got out on bail. Considering how careful he is with his ride, we certainly didn't see that coming.

Controversies and SRK have an eternal relationship. However, this one incident where he had a tiff with the security guard at Wankhede remains etched in everyone's minds. Slapping the guard on duty, SRK hurled abuses, only to earn a prohibition from the premises for 5 years.

The reality-obsessed director of Bollywood was accused by a wannabe actress, Preeti Jain, of rape. The case went on for 9 years after which the director was finally set free.

Item girl, Big Boss contestant, and before all that, romantically involved with underworld don Abu Salem. She, along with Salem tried to enter Portugal with forged documents. Serving her jail term there, she was then deported to India to give her career another start. We recently saw her in a Punjabi movie.

The dancing sensation was booked for slapping a visitor Santosh Rai back in 2008 during the shoot of one of his movies. However, neither the movie, nor the case was remembered for long as the actor continues to star in movies even today.
