Forgotten Heroes of India's Freedom Struggle
With our country moving ahead on the path of development today every citizen of India is leading a life bestowed with ample liberty to live his life the way he want to. But at times while being over indulgent in our hectic and somewhat self centred lives we hardly manage to spare anytime to think about those who ruined their presents in order to bestow us with a supreme future.
So on the Martyr's Day of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, Santabanta salutes the supreme sacrifices of these men of courage.

Bhagat Singh
Shahid Bhagat Singh who sacrificed his life for nation at a very young age of 23 years has become the symbol of the new awakening among the youths.

Rajguru
Shivaram Hari Rajguru popularly known as Rajguru after spending his early life in Khed village near Pune joined the Indian freedom struggle at a very early age and accompanied Bhagat Singh till end. Rajguru was 22 when he was convicted by British government.

Sukhdev
Sukhdev Thapar is another known name which contributed alot to Indian freedom struggle, Sukhdev was also convicted with Bhagat Singh and Rajguru and just like the duo he too sacrificed his life at a young age of 22 years.

Kartar Singh Sarabha
Kartar Singh Sarabha was a leading luminary of the Ghadar Party and was executed at Lahore in November 1915 for his role in the Ghadar Conspiracy in February 1915. Kartar Singh Sarabha was 19 when he was executed.

Chandrashekhar Azad
Chandrashekhar Azad is considered to be the mentor of Bhagat Singh and was the think tank Hindustan Republican Association. Interestingly Azad once claimed that as his name was 'Azad', he would never be taken alive by police. And that's what he did when British police tried to capture him, he shot himself and ended his life.

Khudiram Bose was one of the youngest revolutionaries early in the Indian independence movement. At the time of his hanging, he was 18 years, 7 months 11 days old—barely a legal adult.

Ashfaqulla Khan and Ram Prasad Bismil
Besides being torch bearer of freedom struggle Ashfaqulla Khan and Ram Prasad Bismil were exceptional poets as well. They gave away their lives for their nation and were hanged on the same day, date and time when, but in different jails.
