Mango Chutney Recipe


Ingredients:

  • 5 tbsp Oil
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ¼ cup Vinegar
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 2 Lemons, juiced
  • ½ tsp Cumin seeds
  • ¼ tsp ground Cloves
  • 2 tbsps Ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp ground Coriander
  • 1 tsp ground Cinnamon
  • 2 Green Chillies, seeded and diced
  • 4 green Mangoes, peeled, cored, and sliced

Method:

  1. Heat oil in saucepan and saute onions for 4-5 cminutes.
  2. Add chilies and cumin seeds and saute until fragrant.
  3. Add the cloves, cinnamon, and coriander.
  4. When fragrant, add the mangoes. Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer and cook until mangoes are soft.
  5. Add the lemon juice, vinegar, remaining oil, ginger, and sugar and bring back to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally until thick.
  6. Pour into hot and sterilized jars and seal when cold.
