Mattar Moong Dal Ka Kheema Recipe


Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 1 tbsp Lime Juice
  • 200 gms Grean Peas
  • Salt according to taste
  • A few Ginger juliennes
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • 30 gms Garlic, chopped
  • 1½ tsp Ginger, chopped
  • ½ tbsp Coriander powder
  • 150 gms Onions, chopped
  • 60 gm Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala powder
  • 1 tsp Green Chillies, chopped
  • 1 tsp Coriander leaves, chopped
  • 250 gm Split Green Gram (moong dal)

Method:

  1. Wash green gram properly and soak for 1 hour. Drain and fry the gram till it turns a light golden colour.
  2. Heat ghee, add chopped garlic and chopped onions and fry to a golden brown colour. Add ginger, green chillies and toss.
  3. Add green peas and fry lightly, add chopped tomatoes and fry. Then add coriander powder, turmeric powder and red chilli powder and stir.
  4. Add the fried green gram into this masala with 1 cup of water and mix well. Simmer for sometime. Add salt, garam masala powder and lime juice.
  5. Garnish with ginger juliennes and chopped coriander leaves.
  6. Serve with phulkas or plain rice.
