Terri-Karelle was born and grew up in St Andrew, Kingston, Jamaica. An island that christopher columbus once said “it was the fairest isle that eyes ever saw”. She is a university student and has just received a scholarship to study veterinary medicine in cuba, her ambition is to pursue a career as a veterinary surgeon. At the age of 8 she wrote a letter to the governor general telling him of her quest to save animals. In her spare time she works for the animal shelter, and as an entertainment co-ordinator at a famous holiday resort. Hobbies are: reading, listening to music, socialising, swimming, tennis, and she enjoys modern and creative dance (she was the youngest to be inducted in a jamaican dance company “tony wilson dance company theatre”. Her motto is: “never be content with someone else’s definition of you, instead define yourself by your own beliefs, truths and understanding”.

Creative/ modern dancing
Where would you most like to visit in the world and why?
Vanuatu. It has a vibrant melanesian culture, luxuriant natural vegetation and is rich in both underwater and underground caves.
What is the best thing about your country?
I believe the best think about my country is our people because they are creative and resourceful.

If you were granted one wish, what would it be?
I would eliminate poverty which seems to be the root of all problems such as illiteracy, crime and violence

My message would be to represent yourselves and your countries to the best of your ability, be yourselves and ‘let the wind be behind you’
