What are your interests and what do you enjoy doing the most?
I love to paint abstract and still-life artwork. I enjoy playing indoor netball and running regularly. I very much enjoy traveling and have been fortunate enough to have lived in and visited a number of countries. When I have commitments, I love to relax with a good book and spend time with my friends and family.
Name one person other than your parents who has had the most influence on your life. Why?
My dance teacher Valerie Murray. She gave me the confidence and ability to aim high and achieve my goal of dancing in a ballet company in the United States of America.
What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
My ambition is to work in the media industry, and I plan to take a course in film and media studies to enable me to make the right contacts to achieve this goal. Also, I want to achieve the status of a "selling" artist by opening up my own art gallery in New Zealand.
Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
My father was an officer in the New Zealand army, which enabled my family to live in Singapore and Malaysia when I was a child, as well as many cities throughout New Zealand. During my schooling years I participated in the choir, dance competitions, Maori cultural groups, and art and drama classes and hosted international students from Japan, Prague, Korea, and New Caledonia.
What makes you unique and different from the other contestants?
My ballet training and the opportunities it gave me overseas has given me confidence, maturity and graciousness beyond my years.
