Environmental Concern:
I am highly aware of the environmental challenges the world is currently facing and my country Tibet is also a victim of environmental degradation. Many environmentalists have voiced strong concerns about China’s callous disregard for Tibet’s environment, among which are deforestation, unrestrained mining and poaching of endangered species. I would mobilize resources to create a multi-media campaign centre to raise awareness about the environmental problems facing today’s world.

What makes you proud of your country:
I am very proud to represent my country Tibet, which is also known as the roof of the world. We practice love, peace and compassion as guiding principles of living. As the highest plateau in the world, my country is renowned all over the world for its beautiful landscape. Tibet is an ocean of spirituality. Its spiritual culture continues to inspire and enchant millions of people all over the world.

As someone who had grown up in exile, I do believe that I have a responsibility towards my homeland and to promote and propagate its unique cultural heritage. As a young and educated Tibetan, I think I can contribute a lot in furthering the world’s knowledge about Tibet and the humanitarian values that it represents. We strongly believe that this ancient Tibetan wisdom – of love, peace and compassion – is what is exactly needed to counter the destructive forces of violence, anger and hatred and to heal the world.
