What is your hometown like?
Arvada is a suburb of Denver, so there we have all the excitement of a big city, but it is also only 15 minutes from the gorgeous Rocky Mountains.

What were you like when you were a child?
I was actually very shy and my sister, who is only 10 months older than me, would do all of my talking for me.

Who is the most influential person in your life?
My dad

What is one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize?
I don't like to shop.

What was one defining moment in your life?
On Thanksgiving Day when I was a freshman in high school, my family learned my dad has a malignant brain tumor. My life has never been the same, and I thank God for each day he is still here with us sharing our lives.

What was one defining moment in your life?
Besides learning the top five uses for hairspray other than putting it in your hair, I have also learned networking skills, public speaking and interview skills that will always be a benefit to my personal and professional life.

What was one defining moment in your life?
I hope to not only promote my platform, Celebrate Service, and make America more aware of those who serve, but I also hope to be the marketing tool that helps to re-establish Miss America as an America icon.
