Miss Montana
Christie Hageman
What is your hometown like?
Born and raised in Billings, Mont., I see it as a rapidly growing community with a friendly neighbor attitude. It is big enough to offer all the conveniences of an urban city but small enough to run into people you know all around town.
What were you like when you were a child?
As a child, I always wanted to hang around with my two older sisters, which earned me the nickname that all their friends know me by, Kid. Partially as a result, I was quite precocious in my school years and usually got along better with people older than me.
Who is the most influential person in your life?
The most influential person in my life cannot be narrowed to one because all of my family has had the most effect on who I am and encourages who I can be.
What is one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize?
When people first meet me, they usually do not realize that I am a classically trained singer who also teaches kickboxing and indoor cycling in my spare time. I have had a few requests to break out in song as I teach my classes but it rarely happens.
What was one defining moment in your life?
One defining moment in my life was winning the MTNA National Voice Competition in high school because it solidified my ambition of singing professionally.
What was one defining moment in your life?
I have learned from participating in scholarship programs (pageants) that I must be fully aware and completely comfortable with who I am physically, mentally and spiritually.
What was one defining moment in your life?
If I am given the tremendous honor of being chosen as Miss America, I will strive to place the Miss America brand in the respected, recognized and influential position of our culture that it has traditionally held. I will also take the opportunity to use my prominence to advocate music programs and funding in our education system and in our society.
