Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life. Why?
I have had the most influence on myself. I have always been independent because I studied abroad for several years without my parents. I always think for myself without letting other people influence me unduly.
What is the most interesting or unique thing that has ever happened to you (aside from winning your title) and/or what is the most interesting thing about you?
I played the piano at a charity show for the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
I would like to be a professional musician and to help people. When you play music there is no such thing as nationality; I want to combine traditional Chinese music with Western music to create a new genre. I want to be a composer.
List any interesting or unsual jobs you may have had.
I taught English and music to young girls from very poor areas in China.
Describe your childhood home and living conditions. Were you raised with a large family with lots of brothers and sisters?
I was raised in a pretty average town in China. I am an only child. I kind of lost my childhood. I started playing piano when I was three and whenever other children were playing, I was at the piano. For a long time I blamed my parents, but now I know that they tried to make me excellent and independent. I love them for it.
What one word describes you best?
Natural.
