What is the most interesting or surprising thing about you, or that has happened to you?
For seven years the Roan Mountain State Talent Contest had been won by a vocalist. To my surprise I won this competition not only as a dancer but also as the youngest winner ever!
Are you the oldest, youngest or a middle child and what does that mean to you?
My oldest sister has always lived in Austin, Texas. Although I am the middle child, at times I have felt like the oldest child and big sister to my brother. I take this job very seriously and try to be the best role model possible for him.
Name one person, family, friend, celebrity, who has had the most influence on your life.
Susan Stroud. Even though there have been numerous people to influence me through the years, who all hold very special places in my heart, my mother has had the most influence. Mom has always encouraged me to do my best, supporting me in all that I do, cheering me on, and being a constant source of unconditional love.
What charity/charities have you supported with your time and/or resources over past two years? Please provide the name of the charity, level of involvement.
Volunteer for the Boys and Girls Clubs: Being a teen myself I know that sometimes just having someone share your thoughts or concerns with can brighten your day. From children's activities to just hanging out with teens, I am always a ready and willing to volunteer!
Second Harvest Food Bank: It amazes me that in today's society, there are people that still go to bed hungry in this country.
Collecting and distributing canned goods for needy families has been my way of helping alleviate this hunger.
Samaritan's Purse Christmas Shoebox Ministry: A unique opportunity where I helped to fill shoeboxes with supplies for children to be sent out internationally. I always try to imagine a little girl in Kenya or a little boy in Pakistan opening these boxes with such delight!
