Where did you grow up? Tell us a little about your home town/city, and family.
I grew up in a town called Merksem centred on the city limit of Antwerp. About Merksem I can’t tell much but Antwerp that’s another story. I think there isn’t a city in the world that has such a combination of cultural and modern locations. From Peter Paul Rubens the painter to one of the most top clothes designer Dries Van Noten. But the reason that most nationalities visit Antwerp is our well-known expertise in the diamante sector. Come and see for yourself and I will give you the tour. My family, I’m the oldest of four children. I’ve got one brother and two sisters: Mathias 15, Stefanie 17, and Sofie 20 years old. And my mother and father are the best and I love them with all of my heart.
What Jobs have you done? What was the most interesting/bizarre?
Because I just turned 22 I have to say that I haven’t got a lot of job experience. And thank God I haven’t encountered any bizarre things. I did have some amazing trips by doing modelling jobs and cultural visits. Just before I became Miss Belgium 2004 I was responsible for the administration of a construction company.
What are your career ambitions, how do you plan to realise them?
My ambitions are just starting to form and that is what I love about my life! I’m 22 years old and every day I encounter new people and new experiences. That is why I’m looking forward to my participation of "Miss World 2004". I think it will be the final touch of education to become a grown and complete woman ready to write the next chapter of her life.
What is the proudest moment of your life? (Not including winning your National Title)
Graduating from school was a big moment for me. But knowing that everyday I do my best to be the best I can be makes me proud also.
What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
That would take me all day, I already live a life that’s full of joy and happiness that a person normally has in a lifetime, so I’ll keep these moments in my heart forever and dream of what still has to come. Until then let me embrace these memories in my heart.
What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
A lot! I have always lived my life in a way that I wanted to. Now I have many obligations to fulfil. Not that I mind but it can get hard sometimes because I’m a person who needs time for herself from time to time.
Tell us about an interesting event you have attended, or a person that you have met.
Le Bal de la Rose, Monaco. One word, "Royalty" What more can I say because you need to see it if you want to believe it…
What would you like to do, if you became Miss World 2004?
I think I would like to see the world’s most beautiful places and hope to meet the most interesting people who can give me inspiration and motivation to become the most complete person I can be.
If you had a personal motto what would it be?
Enjoy life to the fullest and live to love.
Give details of any charitable work undertaken?
I didn’t have the chance yet but every month I donate an amount to Child Focus. In the future I hope to contribute more time and energy.
