Moonika grew up by in a small village by Lake Peipsi which is the biggest lake in Estonia. She has been studying music and piano for 17 years and is President of the Student Union in the Estonian Academy of Music. She also teaches singing in high school and conducts a secondary school children’s choir. Next year she would like to continue her studies in Educational Management and in the future establish her own school of fine arts. Her hobbies are: Astrology, crafts, composing ballard’s for very special friends, singing, and playing the piano. Her sporting interests are: swimming, aerobics, racket ball and ballroom dancing.
Where did you grow up? Tell us a little about your home town/city, and family.
I grew up in a small village by the lake Peipsi, which is the biggest in Estonia. I lived with my parents and brother until the age of 14. After that I came to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, to study.
What Jobs have you done? What was the most interesting/bizarre?
Since 2001 I have been working as a music and piano teacher, which is interesting and rewarding at the same time. I am happy to share my experiences and to develop together with my students.
What are your career ambitions, how do you plan to realise them?
This summer I will get a BA in music education studies at Estonian Academy of Music and I want to continue to study Educational Management. The biggest dream is to establish my own school of arts. Also I want to keep on organizing different events and concerts.
What is the proudest moment of your life? (Not including winning your National Title)
To be the president of Student Union in Estonian Academy of Music, second year in a row.
What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
The first time when I went to the secondary school as a teacher I started a lesson talking about myself to the pupils. Then one seven-year-old boy asked me "Teacher, do you have children?" I said that I don’t have children. Then he asked, "Could you please give birth to my sister?" Of course after that question everybody was laughing.
What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
I have got much more attention but I think that the most interesting things are still waiting ahead.
Tell us about an interesting event you have attended, or a person that you have met.
I had the pleasure of meeting Carmen Kass who is a world famous top model from Estonia.
What would you like to do, if you became Miss World 2004?
I would proudly carry and promote this great title around the world throughout the year.
If you had a personal motto what would it be?
"The belief in yourself gives the power to achieve your goals."
Give details of any charitable work undertaken?
I have organized and taken part in many charity concerts and events in Estonia.
