Salome lives in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. and in her 4th year studies at the faculty of Mechanic Auto Construction at the Technical University of Georgia. Her ambition is to become an Economist Manager. Salome also models part time. In her free time she paints, writes novels and enjoys socialising with her friends and dancing the Georgian Folk Dances. She would also love to travel around the world. Where did you grow up? Tell us a little about your home town/city, and family.I was born in one of the beautiful parts of Georgia-Gagra. Gagra is situated on the seaside. Today only memories from childhood remain in me. It has been twelve years that my family has had to live at a different place, also a nice part of Georgia, called Oni. This has been due to the military situation in Abkhazia. My family is large friendly and very traditional. I have a father, mother, sister, brother and grannies. What Jobs have you done? What was the most interesting/bizarre?Most interesting work for me was at one of the studios of professional Development “Image Centre”.

What are your career ambitions, how do you plan to realise them?
My biggest ambition is to put my knowledge gained at the University in practice and actually have some sort of input in strengthening the Economy of my country. I would also be interested in continuing in the modelling business.

What is the proudest moment of your life? (Not including winning your National Title)
I am proud when my parents are happy seeing my attainments. I experienced this the day I was selected “Miss Georgia”.

What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
After becoming the “Miss Georgia” and receiving the main award, which was the car, I experienced the funniest thing. The main award was in the entrance of the building, which was surrounded by the journalists and photographers. Everyone expected me to drive the car immediately. But in the very last minute I realised that I did not know how to drive at all.

What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
Ever since the moment of becoming “Miss Georgia”, I felt everything was changing in my life and I was becoming the centre of attention of journalists and mass media. I felt immediate responsibility, which I have in front of my whole country, when representing it abroad.

Tell us about an interesting event you have attended, or a person that you have met.
After becoming “Miss Georgia” I found myself amongst famous actors, singers, designers-people I would never imagine I would ever meet with. I participated in many presentations for popular cosmetic and perfume companies.

What would you like to do, if you became Miss World 2004?
If my dream comes true, and I become “Miss World 2004”, it will enable me to better express myself, and I shall be able to participate in the cultural dialogues aimed at solidarity of people, fight against aggression and violence worldwide; I will have my input in the protection of rights of nationalities and people of various religions. This is honourable however quite responsible.

If you had a personal motto what would it be?
My motto is: Treat people the way you would like to be treated.

Give details of any charitable work undertaken?
I participated in the charity event dedicated to the refugees from the conflict territories. I would like to make the Trans Caucasus forum and a charity auction for victims of terrorism.
