Amrita Thapar

Interests: I have varied interests ranging from travelling to new destinations. Sketching, rappling, teckking, to delving in basic form of kick boxing. But my passion is designing and styling garments.

Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life. Why?
Sushmita Sen, Miss Universe 1994, for her constant quest for new learnings and achievemnts in such a short span.

What is the most interesting or unique thing that has ever happened to you (aside from winning your title) and/or what is the most interesting thing about you?
The enriching experience of the Miss India Training program, wher I met interesting individuals from all walks of life and built new friendships as people's skills and realtionship building comes naturally to me.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
I aspire to launch my own clothesline in the indian and international markets by striking a balance between theoretical and practical knoweldge in the field of fashion designing.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
As a family we have travelled extensively across India. As my father belonged to the defense forces. This travel exposed me to the rich culture of India, making me more flexible and adaptable as a person and appreciate beauty in diversity, hence my childhoo was not only full of fun and friendships but also full of experiences and new learnings.

List any interesting or unsual jobs you may have had.
During my tenure as a studen of fashion technology, I was invited by a prominent institute to conduct lectures in styling.

What is your most unusual talent?
I am continual learner and take every opportunity and task in life as a learning experience.
