Singer Sam Smith has sparked concerns he is losing too much weight after exposing his tiny frame online.

The star looks half the size he used to be, shedding over a stone over the past few months alone, reports dailystar.co.uk.

Taking to Instagram, he shared a new image of himself enjoying a break from the music scene. The British singer could be seen posing on a balcony. He captioned the post: "California daze".

Fans rushed to express their concern for the singer with one user writing: "He looks so different."

Another added: "OMG so skinny... He needs to stop losing weight. It's making his head look bigger and his body super thin."

Opening up about his ongoing battle with food, Smith said: "Food is the big thing for me. I'm moving around all the time, but I just love food. I still love it.

"It's going to be a battle for the rest of my life. I mean, it's not like this horrible diet that kills me."

"When I want to eat something bad I do it, but I've just got to stay on top of it, which is tough. I just love fried chicken and cheese!"
