The 'Crazy Rich Asians' and 'Oceans 8' star is set to have landed the titular role in 'The Last Adventure of Constance Verity'.

Based on the popular book by A. Lee Martinez, the former YouTube star will be playing Constance, who after a lifetime of fighting the supernatural decides to hang her boots up. She now wishes to have a normal life- a boyfriend, a normal job, best friends. However, it is not as easy as might have thought of.

The the screenplay for 'The Last Adventure of Constance Verity' will be written by John Raffo, with John Shestack (Dan in Real Life, Before I Fall) attached to produce the Lionsgate project.

Awkwafina is currently in theatres with her dramatic turn in Lulu Wang's 'The Farewell'. She has established herself to be franchise favorite, as she will appearing in 'The Angry Birds 2', 'Jumanji: The Next Level', The SpongeBob Movie: It's A Wonderful Sponge'. She is also said to star in Tate Taylor's comedy-drama 'Breaking News in Yuba County' as Kavi and Marvel's 'Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings'; also voicing Scuttle in the upcoming live-action adaptation of Disney's 'Little Mermaid'.
