The overtly political filmmaker Oliver Stone will be headlining the jury at Zurich Film Festival. The Oscar-winning director will not only be judging a wide array of films but also be presenting a restored version of his 'The Doors' biopic and 'The Putin Interviews' documentary series.
'The Natural Born Killers' filmmaker will be leading a jury comprising of Ciro Guerra, Laura Bispuri, Sebastian Koch, and Tiziana Soudani. Stone is a filmmaker with a huge canon of work which shows his inclination for political themes. Lately, the filmmaker's output hasn't been up to the mark as his films 'Alexander' (2004), W.(2008), 'Savages' (2012), and recently 'Snowden' (2016) have failed to make an impact.
But for now, things are looking good for him. Stone has previously won the festival's Tribute award is a welcoming presence at the festival. Throughout its run, Oliver Stone has been a great source of strength to the festival, according to ZFF's co-directors Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri.
The Zurich Film Festival will take place from September 26 to October 6 this year.
