The trailer for 'Miss Virginia' went online a few hours ago. The movie stars Emmy Award winner Uzo Aduba(Orange Is The New Black) in a drama based on real life. She plays Virginia Walden, a single mother who sets to protect her son from a potentially dangerous future
Virginia is called upon by the principal and told that her teenage son James (Niles Fitch) has been suspended. Deeply troubled by this suspension, she beings to worry if he could be running with the wrong kind of crowd. She decided to send him to a fancy private school so his life can take a different and less dangerous direction.
She can't afford a private school. Therefore her hope for a better future for her becomes an uphill battle. She finds herself making rounds at Washington D.C, knocking at doors of politicians and lawmakers. Soon, her fight takes the shape of a movement as she's joined by more women who want a better life for their children.
'Miss Virginia' is directed by R.J Daniel Hanna and written by Erin O'Connor is based on the real-life struggles of an inner-city mother(Uzo Aduba) who sacrifices everything to give her son (Niles Fitch) a good education. Unwilling to allow her son to stay in a dangerous school, she launches a movement that could save his future - and that of thousands like him.
'Miss Virginia' stars Uzo Aduba, Niles Fitch, Matthew Modine, Amirah Vann, and Vanessa Williams and will be theatrically released on October 18, 2019.
