People are excited about the upcoming female-led movie starring Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu, just because the film looks super interesting. The movie is filmed in New York, and by the looks of the trailer, it seems like it is going to be an emotional journey seen through the eye of a girl. All super sexy female characters look amazing, and Jennifer even shared a photo on Instagram looking super ripped.

Release date

Just because of the filming started in March 2019, people expected that they need to wait until it is released, but the Hustlers release date will come sooner than expected. Jennifer Lopez revealed on social media that the movie will be released on September 13th.

Cast

We can see from the trailer that this film has a lot of girl power. Probably the biggest news is that Cardi B is entering Hollywood as she got part of this stripper oriented movie. Just because this is a film about the life of a couple of strippers and the hustle they go through, it has so much in common with Cardi B’s past life. Even though she might appear in this movie for a couple of minutes just because she was on set for only one day, it will still be awesome.

Things do not stop there, as the trailer unveiled more girl power such as ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ actress Constance Wu plays Destiny who is a single mom and goes into the stripping business just to take care of her family. She will be mentored by the professional so-called Ramona, played by Jennifer Lopez. Ramona looks like the real Hustler as she comes up with an idea to scam their customers and make money. All of the lead actresses took pole dancing classes in order to get prepared for this movie.

Lili Reinhart also joins the team playing as Annabelle and Keke Palmer as Mercedes. The supporting cast is also incredible and there is a lot award-winning actors and actresses such as Mercedes Ruehl, Trace Lysette and much more. There are not just girls in this movie, someone has to get scammed by them after all. Actors like Usher, Frank Whaley, Brandon Keener, Steven Boyner will also be part of Hustlers.

Plot

This film is made from a true story, and that is the interesting part. 'Hustlers' is focused on the lives of the female strippers just after the Wall Street crush back in 2008. Destiny gets a job at a strip club just to take care of her family as Ramona is her mentor. Ramona comes with hustlers plan to drug rich people from Wall Street and steal their money, just because she is fed up from them stealing money from hard-working Americans. The movie will contain all kinds of hustle activities. In other words, it is not just college football betting, but big-time gambling, drugs, stealing and much more.

Eventually, all these crazy things last for a short amount of time as Ramona and her accomplice get caught by the police. Sorry for the spoiler, but that is a well-known fact that everybody expected.

This story saw the light of day all thanks to the work of one journalist Jessica Pressler, who broke down and published the story in New York Magazine in 2015. She interviewed Roselyne Keo, the character Destiny is based on, laying out every detail of the story.

Director

As we understood by know that this is a female based movie, it is directed by Lorene Scafaria. She is known for directing films like Friend for the End of the World and The Meddlers. So, it will be amazing to see the movie from the all-girl perspective behind the camera.

This will be a very interesting movie to see, just because it is full of incredible talent and it is based on a true story. People are already excited and can’t wait for the release. We will see if the film meets our expectations.
