After making us bawl in `This is Us`, seems like Sterling K. Brown is right back at it with Trey Edward Shults` `Waves`. Shults, who has already explored with familial themes with his previous two features `Krisha` (2015) and `It Comes At Night` (2017) returns with another gut-wrenching drama about complexities of relationships amidst families.

The trailer shows Sterling K. Brown as a firm patriarch trying to lead his family towards a better life. He goes on and talks to his daughter, checking in to see if she`s okay. We then get a glimpse of both his children trying to make their lives and relationships work. But when push comes to shove, it might be too much for everyone.

Written and directed by Trey Edwards Shults, `Waves` stars Sterling K. Brown, Kelvin Harrison, Taylor Russel, Lucas Hedges, Alexa Demie, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Clifton Collins Jr., and Neal Huff. The movie looks into the lives of two young couples who navigate through the emotional minefield of growing up and falling in love.

`Waves` had its world premiere at Telluride Film Festival last week where it received high praise. Backed by A24, `Waves` will hit the screens on November 1, 2019.
