Not many people know this, but most of the fairy tales and Aesop`s fables we`ve been told as a child aren`t true. Of course, they`re stories and hence can`t be true. But what we`ve heard is a watered-down version of what Grimm Brothers collected. Their compilation of stark tales was never told, perhaps to protect children from the extreme gruesome details of Grimms` version.
Oz Perkins, better known for being Anthony Perkins` son that being a horror filmmaker is bringing a story we`ve heard before. Perhaps with a twist? Could be, as the swapped title suggests. The trailer is brief but full of terrors. Lost in the woods, siblings Gretal and Hansel come across a peculiar house. The owner is an even more peculiar old woman who asks for an introduction. Soon, Gretal realizes that there`s a much darker force at play, and she and Hansel must escape before it`s too late.
