John Woo, already one of the best action-genre directors soon made a splash in Hollywood. But with 'Face/Off' he was really about to make a splash as he was given full directorial control for the first time.
The holy trifecta of Woo, Cage and Travolta was never going to be a misfire, and we weren't disappointed! Nic Cage and Travolta swapping faces with each other under John Woo's direction was once in a decade subliminal experience. Or was it? Because there's the talk of a remake in the air.
Paramount has enlisted Oren Uziel (Cloverfield Paradox and upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog) to write a screenplay with Neal H Moritz attached as a project. As of now, there is neither a director nor any actors attached to the project. It would be interesting to see who will be able to match the crazy, extreme hyperactive energy that the actors from the original movie.
