Karyn Kusama`s gory, feminist, and Satan-worshipping cult classic `Jennifer`s Body` celebrates its tenth birthday today. Starring Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody, and, Johnny Simmons this film could have gone a pretty different way, said the writer Diablo Cody.

The cast and crew spoke to Variety on the eve of the movie`s 10th anniversary. Cody, who had won an Oscar for writing `Juno` talked about her frustrations with the movie constantly being focused grouped. The movie was presented to an audience of young men, which is something she looks upon with sadness in retrospect. The movie was meant for young women as a metaphor for feminity and discovering their sexuality

Cody also told Variety that it would have `definitely` found a wide audience via streaming platforms, giving a much clearer understanding of themes of queer representation and sexual assault.

Released in 2009, `Jennifer`s Body` is a supernatural horror-comedy in which a shy, insecure high-schooler (Amanda Seyfried) must save her best friend, a newly possessed high school cheerleader(Megan Fox) who is preying upon her male schoolmates.
