John Lithgow has joined previously cast Jeff Bridges in FX Drama 'Old Man'. The series is based on Thomas Perry's novel of the same name Dan Chase (Bridges), who absconded from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past.
Lithgow will play Harold Harper. Described as intelligent and tough with deep reservoirs of compassion and ruthlessness, Harper is called back to service by the FBI after suffering a terrible personal loss. He has a complicated past with rogue fugitive Chase, which makes him uniquely suited for hunting him down.
The series is created by Jon Steinberg and Robert Levine. Indie breakout and a successful franchise director John Watts (Cop Car, Spider-Man Homecoming and Far From Home) has been tapped to direct the pilot episode. Watts will also be executive-producing the series along with Steinberg and Levine The production for 'Old Man' is set to begin this fall.
