'Jojo Rabbit' won the Grolsch People's Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival this year. This Taika Waititi film beat the likes of Noah Baumbach's 'Marriage Story' and Bong Joon-ho's 'Parasite' for the most prestigious honor of the festival.
This is a huge boost for the film, as the previous winner of the People's Choice Award (Green Book) went on to win the Best Picture Oscar. Based on Christine Leunens' novel 'Caging Skies','Jojo Rabbit' is about a young boy in Hitler's army who finds out his mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their home.
Written and directed by Taika Waitati. It stars Roman Griffin Davis, Thomasin McKenzie, Taika Waitati, Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, Alfie Allen, and Stephen Merchant. 'Jojo Rabbit' will be released theatrically on October 18, 2019.
