After a string of disappointing films, M. Night Shyamalan found his grove with 'Split'. He made a sequel 'Glass' bringing James McAvoy, Bruce Willis, and Samuel Jackson. The movie didn't replicate the success of its predecessor and stands as one of the most disappointing films this year.
M. Night Shymalan will be taking his partnership with Universal Pictures further. Shymalan will be making two thriller movies, but there's no information on what these projects are going to be. What we do know is the fact these two movies will be released on February 26, 2021, followed by another one on February 17, 2023.
`M. Night Shyamalan continues to create exciting, highly original stories that keep global audiences on the edge of their seats,` Universal Pictures president Peter Cramer said in a statement. `There is no one like him: he is a master filmmaker working at the height of his
powers, and we are honored that he has once again chosen Universal to be the home for his next two incredible projects.`
M. Night Shymalan said "They are the best at finding an audience for new stories with unexpected tones. I believe original films are crucial to the longevity of the theatrical experience. I am so excited to be working with them again and bringing new stories to the movie screen for years to come.`
Shymalan came into prominence with 'The Sixth Sense' for which he was nominated for a Best Director Oscar. Since then he has had a mixed bag of a career. He will be seen in season 4 for 'This Is Us.' Shymalan will be directing and executive- producing a psychological thriller series 'Servant' for Apple TV+
