After Robert Pattinson's casting as the new Batman, Matt Reeves is out to assemble the Rogues' gallery (and other members of the Gotham). There are talks of Jonah Hill and Jeffrey Wright being approached to star in Matt Reeves' 'The Batman.'
Jonah Hill is being eyed to play one of the villains Robert Pattinson's Batman will be facing. The negotiations haven't reached a finality, as both sides can't decide what character should Hill play. Two options in mind are either Penguin or the Riddler.
Meanwhile, 'Westworld' actor Jeffrey Wright is in conversation to play Jim Gordon, a role that has previously been played by Gary Oldman and J.K Simmons in live-action adaptations of the comic book material. Matt Reeves approach is being described as a much more grounded take on the caped crusader.
The version Reeves has in mind envisions Batman as a detective, looking for a serial killer on loose in the Gotham City. Bruce Wayne takes it upon himself to track down the lunatic and put an end to his murderous rampage. Along the way, he'll investigate many of his biggest foes, with Penguin, Catwoman and Riddler said to be the primary antagonists of the piece while folks like the Mad Hatter and Two-Face will play smaller roles.
Currently in pre-production. 'The Batman' has a release date of June 25, 2021.
