Dana Elaine Owens, better known as Queen Latifah has signed on to star in Quibi's thriller series. The Oscar and Emmy nominated star will play a detective investigating a girl's murder in the thriller 'When the Street Lights Go On.'
Created by Eddie O'Keefe and Chris Hutton, 'When the Street Lights Go On' is set in a suburban town that's rocked by the murder of a young girl. The victim's sister and friends struggle to find a sense of normalcy while the investigation into the killing hangs over them.
Queen Latifah is joined by the likes of Chosen Jacobs, Sophie Thatcher, Sam Strike, Ben Ahlers, Julia Sarah Stone, Mark Duplass, Tony Hale, Kristine Froseth, and Nnamdi Asomugha. O'Keefe and Hutton will executive produce with director Rebecca Thomas and Anonymous Content's Tariq Merhab and Chad Hamilton.
'When the Street Lights Go On' along with a bunch of other shows in development for the short-form mobile video platform Quibi, which is targetting an April 2020 launch.
