Seems like Andrew Scott does sociopaths very well. After playing an unforgettable Moriarty to Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock, the actor has signed on to star as another conniving schemer for the Showtime Series.
Steve Zaillian (Schindler's List, The Irishman) is bringing Patricia Highsmith's sociopath character Tom Ripley on the television screen. He will act as the writer and director for the first season of "Ripley" which follows the titular character from 1960s New York to Italy after he's hired by a wealthy man to retrieve his vagabond son and return him to America.
Scott has had a great run of roles recently, especially his portrayal of 'hot priest' from the 2nd season of Fleabag. He will be following the steps of Matt Damon, who played Tom in Anthony Minghella's 1999 drama "The Talented Mr. Ripley."
