Seems like the Emmy win for directing 'Ozark' has opened more doors for Jason Bateman. The actor-director is in early negotiations to direct and star in the "Clue" remake starring Ryan Reynolds for Fox and Disney.
Ryan Reynolds' company Maximum Effort banner shall be producing along with Fox and Disney. Reynolds has brought along the writing team behind Deadpool- Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to write the screenplay for this Ryan Reynolds acting vehicle. With Reese, Paul, and Reynolds involved, fans can expect a hard R rating, in line with what the three did with "Deadpool" movies. The remake is said to be unlike the original, as it will be a "worldwide mystery" which could spawn a franchise.
Written and Directed by Jonathan Lynn, "Clue" was released in 1985 and followed six guests who are anonymously invited to a strange mansion for dinner, but after their host is killed, they must cooperate with the staff to identify the murderer as the bodies pile up. The movie starred Madeline Kahn, Collen Camp, Lesley Ann Warren, Tim Curry, Eileen Brennan, Christopher Lloyd, Micheal McKean, Martin Mull in central roles.
